The Lion Cottage is in easy reach of many small country villages and market towns. Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Broseley, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Cleobury Mortimer, Bewdley, Tenbury Wells, Newport and the heart of the industrial revolution, Ironbridge, with it's many interesting museums are all only a short distance away.

The famous Severn Valley Railway, which can be viewed from the cottage, is just a short walk to the Hampton Loade Station, crossing the last passenger ferry on the River Severn on your way. A very picturesque Station halfway between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.

Hampton Loade

The unusual hamlet of Hampton Loade is situated close to Bridgnorth, on the banks of the River Severn which divides it. The last running passenger ferry on the River Severn connects the two halves of the hamlet.

The Lion Cottage

The Lion Cottage is a unique countryside retreat. It is one of three cottages converted from the former The Lion Inn, dating back to the 14th Century as a watering hole for local iron workers in the Hamlet of Hampton Loade. Original stone walls and beams feature in the cottage along with an authentic log burning stove.

All four bedrooms are a good size, two of which are en-suit and the other two with countryside views out to the Severn Valley Railway Station.
