The River and Rail in a few short words.
The River and Rail Country Inn started in the November of 2000. After having more than 30 years of business as the Haywain Restaurant, A Rosette awarded, and Michelin Guide Presented Restaurant, it under went a small face lift and name change.
Dave Browning, the original owner of the Haywain Restaurant, has in the past seven years developed a reputation as a very good eating hostelry. Lunchtime Pub Food and Brasserie meals through to fine A La Carte dining evening meals.
And depending on the weather, the option to sit out in the gardens is always there with the capacity to seat approximately 120 patrons outside. Including our new outside covered and heated terrace with it's continental atmosphere. So enjoy some of our country fruit wines on the terrace and then go for a walk to some of the offered attractions. National Trust footpaths to Dudmaston Hall, or to the Severn Valley Stream Train Station across the river ferry. Or make us a half way stop on a canoe trip from Bridgnorth to Arley or Bewdley. Or just a stop on route up the Westside / South to North A442, missing the M5 & M6 traffic nightmares.
